Instrumentation Development -> Open Vision Control

Particle tracking is a crucial part of of biochemical analysis and particle/cell manipulation. What started as an endeavor for this has resulted in the realization that instead of developing a specific tool, a more generic offering will allow for a range of automation and control projects. The problem however was that for different control solutions, you would need different control code, making it difficult to add all these variations in the code. By embedding Python (a high-level programming language whose design philosophy emphasizes code readability) the software is made easier and more versatile. This software was developed by Willem Schwalb with the help of Tim Pattinson (who is attached to LOAM from Wesley College). It is available at http://openvisionc.sourceforge.net
